Padres at Mariners July 1, 2011

I've referenced the July 1, 2011 'Turn Back the Clock' game between the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners many times. I've even referred to it as one the greatest days in Seattle Mariners history! That's an obvious exaggeration. Each team supposedly wore uniforms from the 1984 season. The Padres wore v-neck pullover jerseys and belted pants. In 1984, the Padres actually wore button-front shirts and belted pants. The Mariners wore v-neck pullover jerseys and sansabelt pants, and they did the same in 1984, however since Majestic is MLB's uniform supplier, the jerseys were too big and loose for both teams and the Mariners' pants were too short and the Padres' pants, for the most part, were too long and baggy. I have to believe the game would have looked a lot better if a company other than Majestic, supplied the uniforms and made uniforms that actually fit. That said, it's always nice to see the star trident logo!
Adam Kennedy and Chase Headley. Jack Cust. Chuck Armstrong and Jack Zduriencik presenting Ichiro a base representing his 400th career stolen base. Pat Neshek and his stirrups. Ichiro Suzuki batting on July 1, 2011. Pitcher Jason Vargas and catcher Josh Bard exchange a postgame handshake repping the Seattle Mariners star trident caps and pullover jerseys with racing stripes on July 1, 2011. If Chone Figgins wore a trident Mariners uniform every game, perhaps his career doesn't fall apart.
