Oakland Athletics

I don't do baseball uniform concepts and the baseball uniform concepts that I often see are almost always terrible, however every once in a while, something worthwhile will turn up. Today, we find an Oakland Athletics concept from a very unlikely place, the CCSLC, again from the user "Djruggs". I often wish the A's would just combine their uniforms from 1986, the last year they wore v-neck pullover jerseys and sansabelt baseball pants, with their 1987 uniforms, the year they went to nonsensical buttons and belts. The only thing the 1987 uniforms have over 1986 is the 'Athletics' and 'Oakland' script on the jerseys. Well, "Djruggs" created a concept that combined the best of both Oakland Athletics worlds. V-neck pullover jerseys and sansabelt baseball pants, real athletic wear, for the Oakland Athletics, the Ultimate Baseball Look. Of course, we would want the great Oakland A's elephant logo to be placed on the left sleeve. Also, a photo of Rickey Henderson, with Lou Brock, in the previous style Oakland A's uniform, everything's fine except for the boring block letters. This "Djruggs" is a breath of fresh air, especially considering he's a CCSLC member.

St. Louis Catholic Saints

Another refreshing sight to see, the St. Louis Catholic Saints baseball team in Lake Charles, Louisiana, has uniforms that look like the 1980s New York Mets uniforms that were designed by Joe Petruccio. V-neck pullover jerseys with pinstripes and racing stripes! Another example of how you can have a baseball uniform that doesn't look like it came from the "good ole days" of the 1930s, 1940s or 1950s. The baseball uniforms of the 1980s looked good then and they look great today. Grow the game!

1977 Seattle Mariners in 1997 & 2007

The Seattle Mariners celebrated their 20th anniversary in 1997 and to commemorate it, they decided to wear retro uniforms resembling the uniforms they wore in 1977, their first season. Ebbets Field Flannels made the uniforms, which were v-neck pullover jerseys and sansabelt baseball pants with a striped waistband. Roman Pro made the fitted trident caps. In 2007, the Mariners 30th anniversary season, they again wore uniforms based on their 1977 team. Majestic made the uniforms consisting of v-neck pullover jerseys and unfortunately, belted pants.
The following pics are of as follows:
Omar Olivares, Russ Davis, Rob Ducey, Ken Griffey Jr. and Joey Cora on July 19, 1997 in retro 1977 Seattle Mariners uniforms at the Kingdome.
Jason Ellison, Ichiro Suzuki and friends in retro 1977 Seattle Mariners uniforms on July 29, 2007 at Safeco Field. As well as a few rare pics from the Grand Salami magazine of Ken Griffey Jr., Edgar Martinez, Alex Rodriguez and Randy Johnson in retro 1977 Seattle Mariners uniforms on July 19, 1997. Royal blue and gold are Seattle Mariners colors.

New York Yankees

Another surprising concept from the Chris Creamer Sports Logos Community's user "Djruggs", Ultimate Baseball Look home and road concepts for the New York Yankees. Can you imagine if the Yankees wore v-neck pullover jerseys and sansabelt baseball pants? I can, and I know you can too! Grow the game! I will give this "Djruggs" credit, his concepts are an improvement over the old Sand Knit jerseys that once piqued our curiosity. The fans just want what is right for the game, and what is right for the game is v-neck pullover jerseys and sansabelt baseball pants. It's all we ask for.

Baltimore Orioles

Normally, Chris Creamer's Sports Logos Community is a bastion for knuckle dragging mouth breathers who rarely produce anything constructive or worthwhile, however, every once in a while, a beacon of light and positivity emerges from that sea of negative darkness. A Baltimore Orioles concept by the user "Djruggs" was impossible to ignore. V-neck pullover jerseys and sansabelt baseball pants with a striped waistband! A concept for a Baltimore Orioles Ultimate Baseball Look! Outstanding effort in an environment known for so much disposable junk. Well done "Djruggs"! Plus, a gray Orioles Sand Knit v-neck pullover jersey that really puts a smile on your face.
