The Vermont Reds were a Cincinnati Reds minor league affiliate from 1984 thru 1987. They moved to Vermont in part due to the efforts of then-Burlington mayor Bernie Sanders. Their uniforms mirrored the 1972-87 Cincinnati Reds uniforms in many ways. Pullover jerseys and sansabelt baseball pants with a striped waistband. Alumni included several players that contributed to the Reds winning the 1990 World Series like Barry Larkin, Chris Sabo along with future "Nasty Boys" Norm Charlton and Rob Dibble.
